Overcoming the lies

I was laying in bed when I got this whole picture (the story below) in my mind. I know this came from God cause it came out of no where and He started to download it to me and I felt He was saying “write this story.” So I started writing it the next day. This has never happened to me before like this.  Hope you like it! Please tell me what you think!

The game was getting intense. Sweat was running down her face. Her opponent was scoring against her each time. Every time it became harder and harder for her to block each goal, and each time it seemed like her opponent was getting stronger. Her
defense was gone, her team disappeared. It was just her. The opposing team was gone, but it seemed to come together in one person.
Her opponent was fierce, and determined to score against her and to bring her down. He didn’t play by the rules. And even though the whistle would blow against them he would still score over and over against her. Bringing her down and beating her.
As the game continued she tried to remember what she was taught, but kept forgetting and became weaker.
“I can’t do this. I’m losing.” She thought.
Then, like he was suddenly energized, he started to run full force towards her with the ball passing from foot to foot. “This is it,’ she thought, ‘I’m going to block this goal.” Running towards the ball with all that she had, she dove and attempted to grab the ball, but he tricked her and kicked the ball right at her. But it didn’t stop there, he started kicking her continually.
The whistle blew. The coach ran towards the scene. Her opponent backed off, as she was laying there, unable to move. Bruised, scarred, and sore.
Barley able to talk she said, “Coach, did you see that? I don’t think I can keep playing. I give up. I will never win.”
“Yes, I saw that. I’m really sorry that happened. I can see you are hurting. I’m hurting too. Don’t give up. Remember all I have taught you. Remember all that you have learned. Yes it’s hard. But I know you can do it. Persevere. I am right here cheering for you. Don’t worry what’s around you or coming towards you. Just focus on all the good and all it took for you to get here. I’m so proud of you! Are you ready?”
“Thanks coach. Yes, I think I’m ready. I know I can do this.”
She got up slowly and walked to her position. “Ok, I’m ready.”
The whistle blew. the ball came towards her. At first she was unsure then all she had to do was look at her coach, who was smiling, encouraging her. She suddenly got stronger and became confident. She focused, slid and caught the ball. Cheering came from the crowd. As the game continued she kept blocking each goal. Refusing each ball to get past her. As she kept remembering what she was taught, she got stronger, her opponent looked scared and unsure what to do.
It came to the final seconds. Her opponent had the ball. Determined to score against her. But she was determined to not let it get past her.
“I will get this. I won’t let this get past me.”
Instantly, she started running towards her opponent. Dove, and grabbed the ball, sending her opponent toppling on the ground.
Cheering exploded all around her. But no one was as loud as her coach. He ran towards her with a huge smile on His face.
“I knew you could do it! I never stopped believing in you. I’m so proud of you! Never forget each time this happens I’m always here, to be there for you and cheer you on!”
This story relates to us. The girl is us. There’s a reason why I didn’t name her. So that it can be more relate able. The opponent is the devil. The soccer ball is words/thoughts we have against us. The coach is Jesus. The referee (who blows the whistle) is God. The goal is our mind.
Many times we have negative thoughts against us and people say many things against us that beat us up and hurt us, in the inside. On the outside we may look good but on the inside we are beat up like the girl was in the story. The devil uses words and our own thoughts against us to hurt us and continues to throw them at us. But God is always there watching the whole thing calling the things against us, trying to help us if we let Him and not believing in the lies. And Jesus (along with God) is always there believing in us and always thinking the best for us. We just need to keep remembering all the things we have learned and the promises He has said for us. Not letting the blows hit us. But going against them, looking to Jesus, using what we remember and not taking them captive in our mind (like the ball went in the goal). It’s a daily struggle but God is always there for us. Thinking the best of us always!

Hebrews 13:6
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
2 Corinthians 10:4
The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
